From the Carnegie Hall to Aschersleben
Marie Luise Graichen 25. Nov 2017
Enthusiastic
applause
and
standing
ovations
at
the
end
of
the
concert
were
an
outstanding
reward
for
an
artist
couple
who
made
the
audience
breathless
with
his
concert
in
the
town
hall
of
Aschersleben.
Anchutina
proved
powerful
and
expressive
which
breathtaking
sounds
of
a
domra
to
elicit.
The
pianist
Lothar
Freund
was
fascinated
by
this
bulbous
round
string
instrument
and
even
more
by
the
award
winner
for
more
than
10
years.
And
since
then,
the
duo
has
been
touring
the
world's
big
stages
for
several
months
a
year.
Only
this
year,
they
gave
their
debut
concert
in
the
famous
Carnegie
Hall
in
New
York.
Natalia
Anchutina
is
one
of
the
best
on
this
instrument,
seems
to
be
almost
overgrown
with
the
Domra.
She
plays
powerfully
and
yet
delicately
gracefully
and
impressively
touches
the
hearts
of
the
listeners
with
the
famous
"Russian
soul".
The
repertoire
of
the
artists
was
very
complex
for
the
evening.
Composers
from
two
centuries
were
on
the
program.
Classical
pieces
such
as
"La
Campanella"
from
the
violin
concerto
by
Paganini
or
the
"Burlesque"
from
the
first
violin
concerto
by
Shostakovich
were
also
to
be
heard,
as
well
as
original
compositions
for
domra
and
piano.
An
extremely
enthusiastic
audience
elicited
a
few
encores
from
the
two
artists.
The
two
artists
finally
said
goodbye
to
Paganini's famous piece "Il Carnevale di Venezia".
